7 AM aka OFF POP
PL7am also known as Off Pop – DJ and producer from Szczecin (Poland). On local scene from 1997. In 2000 he founded Off Pop project with Radrik. Music that they produced is dynamic blend of modern sounds with solid bass backing. The turning –point was contract with german label WMF Records, which place their hit-track “Down” on the second part of compilation “Nighteffect”. Then was 12” “Simulation”. Since 2002 7am continues his activity as Off Pop by himself. He appeared on “Elektronische Musik Interkontinental” compilation on Traum Schallplaten label. He also released vinyl “Time” for them.
ALI KURU
TURAli was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. He was studying photography at university when he decided to concentrate on music full time. He has been djing in various clubs around Istanbul for the past 4 years and will have forthcoming releases on both Luxaflex Records (December 2006) and Mis Records (June 2007) and ... he is also an asshole ((:
AMBITECH
CZBorn in Brno, he started to make music only when he was 13. Till now, on this way he turned his style and sound into a brilliant. He played his masterpieces live at many great events in the whole Czech republic and even abroad. He simply wants people to dance and be happy. He is also the part of Exwired organisation.
AUDIOPORNO
SWIAudioporno is the story of Bam, Mel & Swizz. In order to spy out new styles and extend their musical horizons, they define the hybrid style Ghettotronica. Audioporno becomes for the three gentlemen a place to bustle around in experimental sounds. Stylistic borders are torn away without drifting into musically adorned idiocy. The focus is strictly on electronic, dance floor oriented products, but not denying to add exotic ingredients, such as Hawaiian sounds from the 50ies, American Hillbilly curiosities, eccentric electronics experiments from the 80's or other obscura.
CLARA BAILAR
CZClara has a classic musical education. She played piano, flute and guitar. After some singing era she started to dance. She had also her own dance group. She has been djing since 2000. Soon she played all around Czech republic and also abroad. As a DJane she plays fusions of minimal, electro, techhouse. In her production she focuses on deep catching sounds and interesting athmospheres! This girl has a fucking great potential!
CROSZ
CZDavid Kriz aka CRoSz produces electronic music since 2001. In CZ made stronger attention in 2005 with his chill-out extension ‘Lagoon’. Public acceptance noted also his ambient-tuned experiments ‘Return of Saturn’ & ‘Supervisor’. Currently is CRoSz working on compliant setup for introduction to his music also as live-act.
D!ROCK
CZ1995 first contact with electronic music at rave parties 2000 starts his production alias d.royd.ical 2001 starts djing alias d.royd.ical 2003 starts his label SAMOPAL RECORDS 2005 start production and live p.a. alias D!ROCK 2006 project d.royd.ical is dead, now he produces only as D!Rock
FUNKATRON
SKSlovak minimal DJ and producer. His style ranges from deep minimal house to hard kicking danceable minimal techno. He is very agille in releasing high quality stuff on various labels; except Wazzotic he also released his works on netlabels like Sweet Smelling Surfaces, Welove:minimal or Bumpfoot. In a short time he should release some tracks also on vynil on Horseplay rec. He is also a promoter of minimal techno events and as a DJ he played at many clubs in Slovakia.
INSECT ELEKTRIKA
CZDyadic project of two guys from Prague. This project was founded 5 years ago after the consuming of a garlic soup which have made a hallucinations of an evil blue goblin which disappears only during the producing of music. Today, IE guys are not sure what is real and what is just an imagiation actually. Last two years of producing, IE are influenced by German way of minimal and especially by the artists of M_nus label. Their live performances are very popular and these guys already have played at the plenty of Czech and even Slovak clubs and events.
JOHN H
SWEBorn and based in Gothenburg, John H has been DJing, as well as producing tracks, since the late 90s, with early musical influences spanning across a wide range of genres, from Swedish techno to IDM, Cologne acid craziness and the sound of Chicago house trax. His DJ-sets usually vary from electro, minimal or techno. On rare occassions during the summer you might also find him spinning dub-tech, tech-house and ambient in some haunting Swedish forest in the middle of nowhere. John H has performed on several locations all around Sweden, but also done appreciated gigs in other European countries. He is also involved in some musical projects with other artists; Instrumentkontroll, Miss cmy, 3770 and Tennessee Gold to name a few.
KARRI O.
FINKarri Ojanen started producing music in 1992. Since then this preoccupation has led him in many directions, including event promotion and vinyl vending. Over the years he's been lucky to play at clubs and parties around the world, from Detroit to St. Petersburg to Tokyo. Nowadays, living in Helsinki, Finland, he concentrates on producing his own distinctive style of minimal techno and microhouse, the ultimate goal still being to fill the dancefloor. He has several releases out now or coming soon on labels including Plong!, Resopal, Toys for Boys and Lebensfreude. When he has extra time and cash, he releases experimental electronica on his own audio-visual label, Abflug.
MACIEK SZYMCZUK
PLMy music - I make samples myself and then transform them into completely new ones; I like clicks, hums, glitches and soft noises; I like space, rhythm and simply melodies in my music. I call my music "click'n'everything". Releases at VIVO rec., MIK-MUSIC, Simple Logic Records, TonAtom, Equaliteq.
MARCO CODEINI
SKMarco Codeini (aka Kavo) was born in 1975 in then Czechoslovakia. His first contacts with electronic music were in 1994 – 95 (Plastikman, Future Sound of London, The Orb, Biosphere, Autechre etc.). First steps in production he did in 2000 and he used FruityLoops software. Initially he produced dark ambient sound, later beat oriented tracks.
MARKUS MASUHR
GERMarkus got in contact with electronic music as early as 1993. Joining various party crews in Leipzig, Markus made himself a name as a highly skilled techno DJ. At the same time, Markus came to appreciate minimal sounds - long before it became the hype it is today. Till this day, harder UK techno and minimal stuff are his main influences. When turning to produce electronic music himself in 2003, he chose to express his versatile style preferences in his own works as well - making tracks and live acts ranging from minimal deep house to minimal tech. He released at netlabels like 1 Bit Wonder, Tropic, Uran 97, Idealtechno and more.
MIHAI POPOVICIU
ROMMihai Popoviciu is one of the best electro producers from Romania and Eastern Europe. The best word to describe Mihai‘s musical work is "eclectic". His productions vary from melodious and melancholic electropop tunes to electro house, from italo to ebm, or from disco to punk. Mihai joined the Gigolo family in the summer of 2004 when he sent a demo to Hell, who decided he should be on International Deejay Gigolos Compilation 8 with the track "Sexy Spenders". A few months later, his first 12‘, "Tales From The Moon EP" was released on the same record label - Gigolo. Being a very productive musician, Mihai can also be found on various romanian CD compilations or on netlabels like Arhiva7 or FOEM.
MINDHOLE
CZHe started to be interested in electronic music in 1995. His first live act performance took place in 2000. After it he performed at various events and places across Czech republic. He makes various mutations of electronic music - ranging from techno to minimal to experimental. He has vinyl release and also mp3 release at Beatbutchery label and soon there will be released vinyl where Mindhole will be together with Takaaki Itoh, Agent and Kwaczo.
NAILER
CZThe half of Machine Funck project and London Underground Crew, Ondrej Hlavacek aka Nailer got to electronic music in his 17. At the decks he plays techno, electro, grime, dubstep, breakbeat...and everything what sounds interesting. In 2005 is choosen to participate at Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle. His active will leads him to the fact that he wants to perform his own tracks. First experiments are made in 2002, however he puts his brain to serious music making as late as in last year.
NIPP
CZOriginally from Pilsen, lives in Prague. He produces music for over 10 years. Co-founder of Article label. He is much influenced by label Kanzleramt and Heiko Laux. His music is like deep-micro-house, minimal, downtempo.
PETER PEA
CZElectronic music punker! He first touched production of music in 1995. In 1998-2001 he has his own radio show Club Overground. He co-founded netlabel Tetris focused on European tracker techno scene. In recent times he mainly works on the sound and mastering. He performs as live act or DJ (ambient, alternative).
POPKAN
USABorn in Chicago, Thomas Erdmann aka Popkan has been quietly putting together an archive of brilliance. Through his careful and intelligent drum structuring, he dares to go where few have gone before. Combining bits, bleeps, squeeks and anything else imaginable, Thomas creates a hybrid of glitch, dub, acidfunk and techno madness. He began taking an interest to electronic dance music underground parties on Chicago’s southside. The sky’s the limit, there’s no telling what this man will explore next.
STR_MQT
CZStr_Mqt is the founder of Wazzotic Records and pure fan of IDM and minimal. He performs as a dj under the name T.C.O.. He is also the music journalist for significant Czech dance music info server and the promoter of minimal club event Le.Clic:Electronique. He loves the weird combination of minimal, electro, experimental and techhouse and tries to transfuse these aspects also into his music stuff.
TEP
CZCzech pure minimal producer. His tracks are a real honour to clicks´n´cuts and deep minimal style. He released his examples of his way of making electronic music also on Clever Music netlabel. He performs as a live act very often and he really has a shiny future.
TREPLEC
GERNils Scheibe aka Treplec, the pupil of the broadcasts from the legendary E-Werk in Berlin. Treplec’s sets are characterized by a certain kick that will take you away and won’t let you go for hours. A similar and no less resolute philosophy is what’s behind Treplec’s label Milnormodern, founded in 2003: He releases what’s rocking himself best. As a producer, Treplec - together with his producing partner André Koerner - can already look back on an appearance on Müller Records (consequently, the EP was named “Milnor Modern”). His aim with his own imprint is to release exciting and ambitious tracks fitting both club and living room. It’s frikly, grooving, rockin - just “minimal.deep.freakin’ techno”.
_CLEAN
CZInfluenced by artists as The Prodigy, Orbital, Chemical Brothers etc. he started to experiment with music program Fast Tracker II, which helps him with first steps in music producing. After some time of playing techno as DJ Fox, he started to listen to IDM and live projects of foreign artists. There was only one possibility, sell turntables and buy laptop with couple of MIDI controllers and sound card. _clean is fusion of minimal and experimental electronic music influenced by labels and netlabels such as a Raster-Noton, Nexsound, -N, Sahko, Leaf and many more...
